They're a power rock trio fueled by the blues and served up

BLUES JAM
with SUGAR RAY
For
more than 13 years Monday at Cozy's
has been
THE jam night in LA and a constant fountain of emerging
talent. Every so often it’s blessed with a surprise
celebrity workout.
It’s really two shows. First up: A full set by our
truly great
house band, led by blues giant Sugar Ray.
Immediately afterward, jammers come up on a first-come
basis, to be teamed with other players usually for
two
songs.
From that point on, it’s a night of musical possibilities
with
the house band members always on hand to insure that
an "A” level rhythm section is standing by, in
case of emergency.
Sometimes brilliant. Always full of surprises. Never boring.
(Jammers, early arrival is suggested.)

ALASTAIR GREENE

Guitarist, Singer, and Songwriter Alastair Greene has been a mainstay
of the Southern California music scene for nearly 2 decades. He has played
with a multitude of artists, the best known being Alan Parsons, Aynsley Dunbar (John
Mayall, Journey, Frank Zappa), and Mitch Kashmar (WAR).
Alastair has appeared with a host of musicians from bands such as Los Lobos,
The Steve Miller Band, Crosby Stills & Nash, The Electric Flag, and The Mars Volta
in bars, clubs, and on concert stages throughout California.
Best known for his blues-based, soulful, and melodic guitar playing (as well as one of
a rare-breed to play slide guitar), his first Cozys gig is long overdue.

GUITAR SHORTY
The word "Legend" is so overused.
That said - Shorty is a Legend.
The kind of legend that reads like a great book. He joined the Ray Charles band
right out of high school at the age of 16.
At 17, he'd recorded under the direction of
Willie Dixon and
was lured away
to play with Guitar Slim in New Orleans. While there,
he fronted the house band
at the
legendary (!) "Dew Drop Inn" and played with greats
like T Bone Walker,
Big Joe Turner and Little Richard.
By age 19, he was on a bus,
en route to the
West Coast, with Sam Cooke........and that's just Chapter One.
One of the greatest acts working today comes home to Cozy's after more than
a year
of constant touring and recording.
As always, Shorty will bring it: Scorchingly
deep blues,
funky real-deal R&B
and
teeth-rattling,
hard-rockin' electric blues.
This is gonna be fun.
Early dinner reservations and arrivals are advised.

Gina Rene

Trying to categorize Gina, artistically, is a bad idea.
The vocalist-songwriter glides so effortlessly across the
lines
of r&b, hip-hop, house, electrofunk, alternative, soul
and 1940's
torch-style singing, words can't begin to describe her. You
just
have to listen.
Blending R&B and Pop melodies with the wit of a true
lyricist,
she soothes with her melodies and then challenges with the
truth in her words.
It's a night of soul, humor, intelligence and talent - backed
up
by a fittingly consummate band.
See and hear her for yourself HERE and HERE.
Then join us
for some up-close and personal Gina. Better bring an extra
fifteen bucks, because to hear her is to want a CD to bring
home.
Early arrival is suggested.

CROSSFIRE - A Loving Tribute to
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN

Anyone who was
ever fortunate enough to experience
Stevie and Double Trouble's driving blues-rock in concert
will never forget the way they played together live.
Eric,
Steve, and Alan have spent hours in research and
rehearsal
to faithfully reproduce the famed Texas "thundershuffle"
and perform each show ever-mindful of the tremendous
responsibility
that they bear - to do their very best to bring back
as
much of the original experience as they possibly can, every
time
they play.
"I gotta tell
you......this guy does the best full- on 'SRV effect'
I have seen and heard to date. Plays the hits, the obscure,
the
bootleg stuff. Highly recommended." -Southland
